Tim Stewart's spinal cord injury
Donation protected
My friend Timothy Stewart, was out riding his Harley one evening to get some fresh air and some wind therapy, when he had a major accident. He injured his neck and damaged his spinal cord, which resulted in paralysis from his neck down. The doctors at Wake Med performed an emergency operation to fuse his vertebrae (C4 thru C6). This stabilized his neck and restored some feeling in his extremities, but currently he is being treated as a quadriplegic. It is not known right now how much he will regain the use of his arms and legs. The doctors are saying that it can be 6 months to a year before they will know how much he will recover. In the meantime he will not be able to work and will have to pay medical expenses and get a bunch of supportive care equipment, not covered by insurance. This is going to be a long road for him and his wife Lisa. My wife and I, along with his Son and family are doing everything we can to help them in this trying time. Sadly to say, this will not be enough to get them through this struggle. It is my belief, that with enough support, he can beat this injury. So I am asking for your help in giving him and his wife the time they need to focus on his recovery. Please donate what you can. Any amount is not too small and will be greatly appreciated. If we can reach the targeted goal, we estimate this will cover their expenses and help them get through this trying time.
