The Nail Cafe startup

Jody & Perla Chance serve as missionaries to the Dominican Republic in a small town called Montellano. They work to train members of the local church to become missionaries to their own communities. Through their efforts to strengthen the existing local church, they see the potential for church planting to surrounding villages in the future.

There are also so many at-risk ladies in their area of the Dominican Republic that struggle to get opportunities for vocational training and employment to take care of their families and to get out of tough situations. Over the last 2 years, God has put in Perla's heart and mind the idea of a self-sustainable coffee shop/nail salon project to which she's given the name, The Nail Cafe, that can help ladies get business/vocational training, employment, and even advancement opportunities, all within an environment of Christ-centered love & discipleship where each lady can be cared for spiritually. Also, The Nail Cafe will be able to connect with neighboring ministries that specifically serve at-risk ladies; helping them to provide their ladies with a tangible & long-term “what’s next” step.
