Hi,

We are Anna & Stu,

It has been our dreams since as long as we can remember to move to America.

We have worked on summer camps, joined large American companies and even studied Masters Degrees to get ourselves closer to this goal.

We are now closer than ever to finally realising this goal because after years of applying Anna has been accepted on an MFA in Dramatic Media Production program at The University of Georgia, Athens.

Thankfully, the course includes a full scholarship and a reasonable monthly stipend. Which means when there we will have little to worry about financially, but it is getting there thats the hard part.

(Thats the Georgia in the United States and not the Athens in Greece for all you guys still confused).

Shutting up shop here in the UK and moving to the US is going to be a complicated, hard and expensive endeavour and so we are reaching out to our friends and family and asking for your support.

What are the plans…

• Get married in order for our visa to be valid (wedding is the 17th June)
• Host a reception party for our friends/family
• Pack up in the UK- from now until the last minute!
• Fly to Atlanta- 25th July (TBC)
• Stay in Atlanta hotel (to quell the jetlag)
• Drive to Athens- 1st August
• Stay in a hotel in Athens
• Move into our new apartment
• Furnish new apartment
• Apply for Stu's work permit (so he can continue his career)
• Live out our next 3 years in Georgia while Anna works on gets even more educated

What we will use money the for...

• Wedding expenses
• Storage costs for items we are leaving in the UK
• Shipping costs for items we want to take.
• Fixing up our apartment so it is of a high enough standard to rent out or sell
• Flights (one way!!!)
• Renting a car to get us to the University for orientation week
• Hotel fees for Atlanta and Orientation week
• Purchasing furniture
• Acquiring new electronics (like toasters, microwaves, blender etc - just like normal wedding gifts)
• Buying a car (so we can get around Georgia)

What do you get for your money...

• A big thank-you (maybe in letter form- wouldn't it be exciting to get mail all the way from America :P)
• We will blog the journey as much as we can and share every step
• An invite to stay in a super awesome place where you can hang out in the Georgia sun with 2 wanna be Americans and have loads of cool adventures and peaches :D
