Who We Are;

The Afara Collective is developing a platform that will make anti-racism a daily practice by delivering accessible, diverse education programs and creating a community that empowers, encourages and initiates action. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization registered in California and your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable.

Afara is designed for anyone interested in improving their understanding of their own biases around racism and learning how they can personally take action to become anti-racist. Our services include;

• Signature courses & programming
• Consulting and advisory services for corporations and organizations
• Workshops, materials and free resources for K-12 schools and youth/community organizations
• Live events & conferences
• Mission based funding
• Mentoring services

Our Mission;

We believe racial justice work is crucial in creating a society where all groups of people benefit from the system, not just a small few. To combat systemic racism, we are looking to foster conversations and actions that break down traditions that sustain white privilege. We also aspire to offer our services and materials to organizations and individuals within our communities that may not have the means to pay for them. We also seek to leverage our nonprofit status, which offers a unique place in the social impact ecosystem, to foster cross-sector collaboration and action that leads to lasting change

Our Planned Impact;

We strive to create more equitable and safer communities as we foster a less tolerant society of civil injustices against communities of color. By educating and empowering individuals to take daily action, we aim to inspire bystanders to stand up to racist and bigoted behavior. Over time, as people advocate for and invest in diverse communities, these actions will create a more equitable wealth and resource distribution. We exist to make anti-racism a daily practice.

What are we raising money for?

We currently have a team of over 40 highly skilled volunteers that have been working over the last 8 months to develop our capabilities. In order to launch Afara we need to spend some initial funds which are one-time upfront costs that will ensure the longevity of our impact. The money that we raise will be allocated as below;

• Content development
• Designing community solutions and engagement
• Developing innovative educational materials

We envision that the funds allocated will propel the launch of our organization. By properly compensating our launch partners and experienced experts, we will be able to utilize a formula that will sustain and influence Afara’s work beyond the capacities and capabilities of our highly-skilled volunteers.

Our Unique Offerings;

We are working to make anti-racism a daily practice and believe addressing racial bias with a multicultural lens is critical in creating sustainable and impactful change. Conversations about race are not just literally Black and white; it is multifaceted and multi-dimensional. Not a single person nor a group of people can solve it alone. Afara’s empathetic approach does not assign blame or promote guilt. It centers on meeting individuals from all walks of life in this journey, providing actionable tools and techniques, and sharing lived experiences as a community to move forward constructively.
