Care And Recovery For Brianna Meyers

On Thursday January 23rd Brianna and her fiance, Kiley, were involved in a serious car accident on a snowy outer road and their vehicle was tboned by a truck. Kiley sustained minor injuries. Brianna took the brunt of the impact and sustained serious life-threatening injuries. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital where she was rushed into emergency surgery to stop internal bleeding. She has many complications and injuries including a shattered pelvis, broken leg, broken ankle, broken L5 in her back; lacerations to her spleen, liver, kidney, pancreas and intestines. She is intubated and under sedation, but has woken occasionally and has been responsive. As of Saturday, they have removed her spleen and stopped the bleeding. They left her abdomen open for the time being and are preparing for a second surgery in the afternoon. Brianna is a genuinely beautiful, bright, kind person who touches the lives of everyone she meets. She's a loving fiance, daughter, sister, and Aunt. She talks about being a wife and a mother. She has so much hope and faith. Brianna has many battles to come, and a long recovery ahead of her. We hope to take some of the burden of finances and medical costs from her and Kiley.
