Cancer Treatment for #TeamAndy
Donation protected
My daddy, Andy, was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer just a few weeks ago. As my mom, my two sisters and I listened to the words, "He has lung cancer", fall from the doctor's lips, I remember a distinct feeling of unbelief...as if I was watching another family hear those horrible words.
So, as the doctor appointments pass by and a treatment plan is formulated, reality sets in. When the doctor mentions a, "...treatment plan...", it's difficult at first to imagine what that means. What, exactly, does a cancer patient endure during treatment? While my family's journey has already been difficult, it has also been strangely beautiful. We find ourselves becoming closer, making sacrifices, doing and saying things we didn't think we had the ability to do. I'm thankful for my awesome family and incredible friends who have already been phenomenal prayer warriors and much-needed lifelines. Beginning on October 22nd and continuing for a minimum of six weeks, my daddy will have radiation treatment 5 days a week, chemotherapy once a week, and periodic "body scans". He will have to pay out-of-pocket for every appointment, not to mention daily fuel costs, additional medications, supplements and specialized foods while he is in treatment. All of these added expenses accumulate very quickly.
I ask now that you support #TeamAndy! Every donation will help offset the additional unexpected medical expenses. With your support, I know that we will not just reach our goal; we will exceed itl! Cancer has met its match!!!
