In Loving Memory of Tatyana Abrams

Donation protected
Tatyana Abrams was diagnosed with Leukemia at the tender young age of 10 years old. However, overcoming leukemia was only one stop on her medical journey.

To beat the disease Tatyana underwent months and months of treatment at Boston Children’s Hospital. Finally, after receiving a Bone Marrow Transplant her cancer eventually went into remission. Unfortunately, the grueling course of treatment for Leukemia took a tremendous toll on her body and by the time she was 13 years old her lungs had deteriorated so badly she often needed an oxygen tank to breathe. By 14 breathing was so taxing Tatyana was told she would need a lung transplant. A few weeks later she was listed and after months of waiting, a perfect match of donor lungs became available!

When Tatyana was told her new lungs were available her parents recall that she cried and cried, but they were happy tears of joy because she couldn’t wait to breathe again!

The recovery process was very long and grueling but Tatyana was a fighter and never gave up. Eventually, she was able to return to school and tried her best to live as much of a normal teenage life as her body would allow.

Despite her own condition, she was always looking for ways to help others and once she felt strong enough she joined the Advisory Committee at Boston Children’s Hospital, which provides patients a forum to discuss ideas with the staff about how to improve the quality of care for adolescent patients. Giving back to others was only one of the many beautiful qualities of Tatyana and she always inspired those around her to do better!

Sadly, Tatyana was diagnosed with the Flu Virus and even though she had fought many, many nasty viruses in the past—she just could not fight any more battles!!

On Tuesday, January 27th—the day our communities stood still because of Mother Nature and the blizzard of 2015.

We lost Tatyana…..

It was very fitting that Tatyana chose that day to leave us…. She knew everyone that loved her would be together and they would not be burdened by the business of life…Even as she was leaving us, she remained thoughtful, always putting others first.

Tatyana will forever remain in our hearts and she will continue to be an inspiration to many people---- from those that loved her dearly to those that simply just knew her name.

Please consider supporting the Abrams family through this this very challenging time. Tatyana’s life was so unbelievably beautiful and the family needs support to ensure she has a proper home-going celebration.

The money donated will go towards the funeral and burial expenses and any additonal funds will be donated to one of the many charities that help children like Tatyana and families like the Abrams.

On Behalf of the Abrams Family..... Thank You!!
