Hello friends and family!
On September 27th I will begin a six month journey that starts with my enrollment in the Discipleship Training School for Youth With A Mission(YWAM). The first three months will be spent in Kona, Hawaii. Kona has become the biggest homeground and campus for YWAM... it's location was a perfect outlet for sending teams around the world when the program began over 50 years ago, and the base has been growing ever since. Today they host some of the most influencial speakers and teachers in the christian community.
My three months there will be a time focused on deeper growth and wisdom in my relationship with God. I will also be studying things like Biblical worldview, cross-cultural ministry, discovering God’s purpose for my life, the character and nature of God, and making him known through all the nations.
...At the end of December we will prepare to make our way overseas for three more months of global missions work. This stage is known as outreach. While traveling into different nations I'll have so many opportunities to grow and be challenged through evangelism, teaching, serving, and pratical work. I do not know where I will be sent for outreach yet - there are missions in different locations every year, from Thailand to Alaska - but I'm super excited to practice international ministry wherever I'm sent...
I pray that this season will prepare me for a lifestyle of ministry. I really would love and appreciate your prayers more than anything!
I believe that mission trips and spreading God's love to the nations is a huge calling and super necessary. But I also believe we are called to be missionaries every day in our own cities and workplaces and neighborhoods. I am praying that this experience will equip me for being in ministry in my community, and career as I start my own business and hopefully family in the future!
Frankly, I can't do this on my own. I need God's help, I need your prayers, and I need to raise approximately $8,500. The cost will cover the lecture phase (tuition, room and board), the outreach phase (food, ground transportation, airfare) and my supplies and accommodations. I am doing all I can - working a full time job + a part time job - to raise funds. In addition to working and saving I plan to sell my car at the end of this summer.
I have created this site so that you can be my missionary partner. Your financial gifts will help make this calling on my life happen. Will you please help me? A $1,000 deposit is due the day I arrive in Kona,
$4,000 is due 30 days into lecture phase, and all outreach fees ($5,000) must be completely paid before the 6th week of lecture (November 10th)!
That leaves me with less than two months to raise money! I know in my heart this is something I'm called to and I feel such a passion and peace about this opportunity.
