Short Term Need for Housing!!!
My daughter and I are between homes and I am between steady paying jobs. I lost my job and EI was delayed by 2 months. so I fell behind in my rent. I am waiting for a settlement (another matter) but it is several months overdue, so I had to move out. For the past month I have been roofless. I now receive a small amount of EI, but it's not enough to cover current housing expenses or a deposit for first and last month’s rent. Additionally, a prospective landlord wants to see a steady income source.
For the past 3-4 weeks, I have been housesitting and cottage visiting 3 to 4 hours from our home city, but in a few days it’s back to reality and school starts. I am coming up short with no roof over our heads. I want to maintain some sort of ‘normalcy’ for my daughter and don’t want her to be frightened about these circumstances. I have had to sleep in my car before, but luckily I arranged a temporary sleepover for my daughter. I require funds for the next couple months for short term rentals, first and last month’s deposit, food, back to school supplies, gas to get my daughter back and forth to school because we will be outside of the bus route.
Many suggest AirBNB, and my research shows, in this area, it is on a par with local 2-3 star hotels, coming in at about $100 a night, after all fees are added into the mix. If you know of other housing options, please get in touch with me directly.
