Life Saving Surgery for BUDDY

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family....  We feel the need to reach out to everyone we know. John and I have come across a stray cat that we've named Buddy that was living in the streets and in bad shape. He was suffering from mal-nutrition, a small cut on his nose and a slight step deformity of the spine at the tail base. He's a wonderful cat. Very kind, purrs in our presence, funny, playful little guy, and loves his catnip. Buddy's had a ROUGH life out there. He was shaking from the cold, lets face it, it's been a horrible winter this year. Our heart and conscious could not let us leave this little guy outside anymore to fend for himself.... so we took him in temporarily to let him rest a bit. Figured a few months of a warm cat bed, 2 meals a day, fresh clean water, kitty potty cleaned daily, and lots of love will bounce Buddy right back to health. We noticed Buddy has a hard time breathing. So, we took him to the vet on Feb 14th and after a very expensive x-ray turns out Buddy has a 'Diaphragmatic Hernia'. Basically the diaphragm that separates the lungs from the other organs has a tear. His left lung is strong but the right is collapsed and he's struggling to breathe. The vet said he could go at any time. It all depends on how much longer his good lung is willing to do twice the work. Fortunatly, there is a surgery that could save his young life (he's only 2). Unfortunately, it's $2000!! I've called just about every place in Maryland and even Animal Rescue in New Freedom, PA and nothing. Not all vets can perform this surgery and the one's that do want their $2000. I'm reaching out to everyone for help with finding resources and for financial help. I don't expect miracles, although one would be great right now. All  money received would go 100% towards Buddy's surgery and recovery (we're going to post receipts). We could also use lots of prayers, resources, maybe if you know a vet, or an organization that would cover the fees or at least reduce it so that it's more affordable. We have 2 other cats, 2 little boys in elementary school and a son in college. We can't do this alone.... the sad news alone is taking a huge toll on us all. Our 11 yr old twin boys have grown to close to Buddy. I've always cared for animals and it's really breaking my heart that I can't just run and get Buddy this life saving surgery. I can be emailed at: [email redacted] or you can call me [phone redacted], text me, email me...anything. I'd hate for Buddy's lung to give up the double work. We've decided to keep him permanentaly and he's now part of our family.... going forward he will have a good home, food, care and #1 thing, all the love he can handle. Facebook has pictures of Buddy 'then' and 'now'. He's our little guy, thanks for reading our story and Help Us Help Buddy!! -God Bless.
