Help Support Team Cindy!

Family and Friends;

As many of you may or may not know, my sister Cindy Stevenson was recently diagnosed with a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor on her spine that requires surgical removal. During a emotional meeting with a Louisville surgeon, she learned the surgery involved substantial risks and he recommended she seek a surgeon in a larger city that specializes in this rare tumor.

On May 17th, she is will meeting with doctors at Boston's Dana Farber Cancer Institute for treatment.

Unfortunately, Cindy doesn't have health insurance or short term disability. When it gets close to the time of surgery she will take a non paid leave of absence from her job. She will have to continue to pay for travel expenses to Boston before and after surgery plus rent, bills and living expenses in Louisville. We are not sure how long her stay will be in Boston.

So as you can see, this is going to be very costly on both her and her immediate family. We are banding together to try and help alleviate some of the stress related to the cost Cindy will be facing. We want Cindy to focus all of her energy in getting better. The coming weeks and months will present there own challenges as Cindy has surgery and adjusts to the effects it will have on her life.

We are appealing to you to help us in any way you can large or small and appreciate anything you can do to help us. We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers also.
