"May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus"
Romans 15:5

On the Feast of Christ the King this year, my husband and I joined Regnum Christi.  We were compelled by the mission of "helping people to live their faith deeply, and to get involved in works of service that assist people with the hope of bringing them closer to Our Lord."

On the day we joined, there was a prayer request for an employee and loved one of the Legionaries of Christ College in Cheshire.  Marek Chodakowski had suffered an aneurysm and was in a coma - in critical condition.  By the end of the week, his beautiful wife Ewa and college-aged daughter, Camila, were grieving the sudden loss of their father.

We can't begin to estimate what impact will remain for Ewa and Camila.  The immediate impact, I imagine, is loneliness and uncertainty for the future.

On Thanksgiving morning, my family and I visited Ewa and Camila.  We didn't know them, but we felt Christ needed us to minister to them on this day of giving thanks.  Fr. Simon Devereux joined us, and after an awkward greeting, they graciously welcomed us into their home.

This small family of three, is now a family of two.  Marek was working two jobs - one at Yale and another at The Legionaries of Christ College.  He and his wife were working to maintain their small and lovely home and support Camilla at Holy Cross University in Massachusetts.

We also learned that their entire family is in Poland.  A visit to grieve Marek's passing with family during this season will cost them well over $3,000.  This is a significant burden for these beautiful ladies.

In addition to this expense, I'm certain that there will be many other needs as Camila completes her Senior year at the university and Ewa tries to fill the financial gap that Marek used to provide for.

Like this family, there are countless others who find themselves widowed and orphaned and depend on the mercy and compassion of the Body of Christ to look forward with hope.  Please join me in praying that they are able to live the "meantime" (without their loved one) with security and peace.

Please join us in supporting the Chodakowski family with prayers and any bit of financial help you can offer.  We'd like to see them be able to visit their family in their homeland during the holidays and ease any other financial burdens they may have over the next few months.

It is a pleasure to be a part of the Body of Christ and to use all of our time, talent - and when needed - treasure, to build up His Kingdom!

Thy Kingdom, Come!

God bless you and your family now and always,

Arlene Peterson and Kendall Peterson
