Support for the Clark Family

Donation protected
In early January I learned that my neighbor's son  Theo Clark was once again battling his fight with Ewing’s Sarcoma which is a form of primary bone cancer that makes up about 1% of all childhood forms of cancer. His parents are hardworking and his father is forced to spend significant time away from the family due to his job responsibilities. His mother runs a small daycare out of her home for local residents. Theo and his mother Margie have been in the hospital over 44 days ever since the new tumors were found.  This has once again taken a toll on the needs of the family and forced Margie to put her daycare on hold.  Please help support them in any way you can and share this link to help get the word out.  I have posted the most recent update from his father below.  His story is heart wrenching and difficult
to imagine.....

Dear Friends of Theodore,

Just before Christmas, we took Theo for an X-ray after he complained of pain in his lower back. A few difficult weeks later, here we are back in the hospital -- The Bristol Myers Squib Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick.

Scans found three tumors, one of which appears to have wrapped around his lower spine. Before we knew what we were up against, Theo could no longer walk.

We’re pleased that radiation therapy appears to be working to bring feeling and movement back to his legs and to reduce overall pain. And we’re also happy that he’s (mostly) comfortable, alert and sometimes even cheerful here at the hospital.

But the situation is this: he can’t walk, and he can’t sit up. And the standard chemotherapy for Theo’s condition -- Synovial Cell Sarcoma – has been ruled out as ineffective. It didn’t work the first time, so we have to try something else.

Theo’s already been through a lot, and now the degree of difficulty seems to have been increased. But he’s completely focused on a happy ending. Thanks for all of your deeds and thoughts to help Theo recover.

With much love,

Casey and Margie
