Community Support Needed for Emily
Yesterday, Emily and her fire crew were dispatched to fight the blaze in Glide, OR. While they were en route, all of Emily’s belongings, including her vehicle, were destroyed in a structure fire in the Almeda Fire in Southern Oregon. Everything she owns was lost while she focuses on the task at hand: fighting to save others from the rampant wildfires across Oregon.
Our family was going to wait to post a call for support until Emily returns home from fighting the fire in Glide, but decided to do so sooner rather than later. We are asking for our community to band together to support Emily during this tumultuous time so she knows that she has something to return home to.
All donations are appreciated, everything helps. If you have extra clothes, toiletries or other items that you’d be willing to donate, we’d gratefully accept them on Emily’s behalf. You can reach out directly to one of our family members (Lacey, Bob, Anna, Dell or Ken) to coordinate donations. Donations made through Go Fund Me will be used to help Emily with clothes, shoes, hygiene items, basic necessities and (hopefully) a replacement vehicle when the time comes.
At the end of the day, Emily is safe and that’s all that matters. Our family has been part of the fire world for decades and we are grateful for the tight-knit community that understands the sacrifices made by those on the fire line.
