Support Vino

We are trying to help a friend and inspiration, Ms. Mary Vino, a living witness to courage and faith.

When Vino was a child she contracted tuberculosis of the spine and lost sensation and function of her lower body.. At one point her family left her in a hostel to be cared for and later they also passed away. Vino has moved several homes, undergone much abuse and suffering. Despite all this, she has lived her life with  grace and dignity. Unable to bear what she underwent, at the age of 40 she decided to move away from institutions and live alone despite her disabilities and show the world that she is more than just her physical condition.  

For 20 years, Vino has lived alone in Chennai, India, literally one day at a time. Several people have helped her along the way. With whatever she got, she took the minimum she needed to survive and shared it with those whom she felt had less than her. She has written several songs and poems and helped people through her kindness and wisdom, giving hope to many who struggle.  

 We feel Vino, who has undergone more than her fair share of suffering, deserves to live a good life at least from now on. If we can help give her the financial security to take care of her living and health needs, we believe she has much to offer to this world through her courage, faith and talents. She has been an unsung hero to many poor people all these years. Hopefully she can live up to her full potential with our help.
