Susien Xhong was critically injured in a head on collision on January 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Susien suffered major injuries to her brain and has been in a medically induced coma after surviving 5 hours of brain surgery. Susien is currently being well loved and cared for at Fresno Community Hospital. The odds at this point are not great... but not insurmountable. We have a 50-50 shot of getting her back.
At this time, we have Susien's family staying at the hospital around the clock.... this is an extended family. Our wish is to provide support to the Xhong family as well as to raise funds to help pay for Susien's medical bills. Fortunately, she has insurance but there will be many bills that will require additional funds beyond the insurance reimbursement.
Our hope is that Susien can awake to a new life with zero debt, a new car, and a family that has been well loved and provided for during this horrific time of uncertainty. We are asking that the community wrap their arms around this magnificent creature of God who took every opportunity possible to mentor others through her work with HERO as well as her interactions with every person she met.
Susien recently graduated with her Masters degree while working 2-3 jobs at a time and volunteering to empower Hmong youth by engaging them in community service while she personally mentored them. Susien's dream is to open a recreation facility where she can help anyone who has been displaced or suffers significant barriers that stand in the way of success. Susien had just finished celebrating the accomplishment of her new job in Visalia as a marketing representative for a major health care organization.
Susien is shadowed by her mother and father and siblings as well as the many, many friends and professional acquaintances who all grew to love her infectious smile and passion for life.
It is our hope that you will consider donating even $1 to help get Susien back on track when she awakes.
On behalf of her family, friends, and everyone who grew to love her, we mostly ask for your prayers. It is much too soon for Susien to leave us. We gladly forsake all else for God to bring her back to us and have Susien awaken to a new beginning.
