Skylar Harris & Family

Donation protected

Baby Skylar was born on 29 March 2014, at Mary Washington Hospital, via emergency c-section. It was touch and go for both mother and daughter because of the massive blood loss.  Skylar was then put on a life flight to Children's Hospital in Washington D.C. Baby Skyler was born with EA/TEF, Esophageal Atresia/ Tracheoesophageal Fistula, where her esophagus failed to attach to her stomach. She unfortunately has type B, which is one of the rare types. Her stomach now is the size of a thumb. She never received any nutrients in her stomach through the entire pregnancy. The only nutrients she received were through her mother's umbillical cord.  She is currently being fed through an IV. Unfortunately the doctors at Children's Hospital in DC could not continue to help Baby Skylar, so she is now in the care of the doctors at Boston Children's Hospital, where she is thriving. She has had 4 surgeries to date, hopefully this last one will be it for a while. The doctors have not given us a definite date on when she be able to come home.   This is a lot for someone so tiny to go through, but Baby Skylar is a fighter. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated.  I just ask that you keep Baby Skylar in your prayers.  God Bless!!
