My name is Pat Hoffmann, and I am Director of the Burlington Shambhala Meditation Center, where Melinda is an active member. Our community was shocked and saddened to hear of Dusty's death, and we have created this site to invite you to support Melinda as she faces life without Dusty.
Here are Melinda's own words about this terrible event:
It is with indescribable sorrow that I share the news that my sweet, sweet husband, Dusty, passed away unexpectedly on Friday night. Our hearts are broken. We are reeling. He struggled with addiction on and off throughout his life and succumbed to this heart-wrenching disease. So many of you know him for the loving, bright, hilarious, caring soul that he was. I know your hearts ache with Kaia and me. Those of you who didn’t know him, I hope that in sharing memories of him you can get a taste for the love, light, and joy that he brought to our lives. He was so good. Dusty and I shared 18 years of friendship. We fell in love 12 years ago and just celebrated 9 years of marriage on August 2. I am so thankful to our family and friends who have already begun to surround us with love and support. We will need it in the days, weeks, months, and years to come.
