Hughes family COVID longhaulers

Hi my name is Scott Mather  and I have dear friends who are in need of financial help. Dr Robi Tamargo ,wife of my college buddy Jim Hughes,is a Clinical Psychologist who came down with Covid-19 back in JUNE while treating a patient. She is what we call a “Covid Long Hauler”which can be best described in her attached YouTube video.  Since this video and picture, Robi’s condition has worsened and she is now being treated by a team of experts at Mt Sinai hospital in New York. Robi’s weight is down to 98 lbs and nothing seems to be working. Each day they take the subway masked up to and from numerous doctor appointments.I cannot begin to imagine what they are going through. I have asked repeatedly “ what can we do” or “what do you need” and get the same answers “ we are doing OK how about you”or “ we’re all set for now but I’ll let you know”. Well it’s time to be brutally honest! They are not OK. How could they be? They have had to rent a place in NY, face medical bills ,food etc. with no end in sight. Together they have faced major hurdles in life,too many to list here but suffice to say they could write a book. All the past issues however pale in comparison to what they are facing now. Aside from the obvious health concerns and long term effect which other than much needed moral support, none of us can help, they no doubtably are facing financial pressure , which fortunately we can help with. I have never used Go fund me,am not a social media person, don’t use Facebook or have a following and am not very tech savvy so I am not sure how this is all going to work and what to expect. The go fund me site has tips for posting,asking for donations etc which I am not comfortable using.So let me put it this way; the situation is urgent,no amount is too little ( I realize there is a lot of people in need out there) and if nothing else please help me spread the word and wear masks and practice social distancing.
