On March 11, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the outbreak of COVID-19 a global pandemic, reaching more than 118 countries and affecting hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. Our Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has urged the general public to avoid all non - essential contact with others. However, whilst the majority of the population are isolating in their homes, the medical heroes are forsaking their own health and wellbeing and putting people like you and me first. It's now time to work collaboratively with all communities to help those in need and by providing safety medical equipment that can save lives and help reduce the spread of COVID-19 Over the past year, I personally spent a large portion of my time going in and out of the hospital due to a medical condition known as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which I have had since birth, also been diagnosed with HSP which now has left me in severe pain and reliant on a wheelchair. I was also diagnosed as being medically depressed which led to me not speaking to my children and partner for a long time. I am glad to say that, thanks to the great support I received from doctors, nurses and many others, I am currently in a healthy and positive state, atleast for my current situation. Although this experience had many negative impacts, it also made me realise how grateful I am for having such a great, loving community around me. My family and I are currently practising the recommended social distancing but want to help and support vulnerable people where possible. The UK currently has a shortage of Medical-surgical masks as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. There are a few sellers online who are able to provide these masks, however many of them are charging prices that most. of us are struggling to afford.  Through the start-up of my own business, I have created a number of links to foreign suppliers who are able to provide me with the masks at a price of approximately 43 pence per mask, in this case Tina. The money from this fund will initially be spent on medical-surgical masks which I plan to distribute around my local area & hopefully with your help nationally with the help of volunteers, as well as other places in need in the UK. This money will also go towards funding other forms of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as hazmat suits, hand sanitisers, gloves, and goggles which I'm also able to source. Any additional funds I wish to donate to hospitals for the hard work and risk that our NHS is currently providing. I am not profiting from this campaign.. just using my time to help mankind. I could profit from this however I realise what good is money if everyone is dead. Please let's make this happen .
