Dangerous Distraction=Costly Conclusion

Donation protected
On the afternoon of March 22, 2014, Randy Hooper and Jerry Worley were in a terrible accident on their way home from serving as motorcycle escorts for a funeral. After a quick stop to put on their leathers because the temperature was dropping, they returned to the road for the last leg of their trip. At about 6:45 pm, a car crossed the center line into their lane. Randy and Jerry took actions to get the drivers attention. Each honked their horns and revved their pipes. Both riders locked up their brakes and attempted to swerve, but they had nowhere to go; they were trapped. Randy was able to veer off left by the center line but clipped the rear quarter panel causing his bike to go down. Randy suffered 6 crushed vertebrae, head trauma, road rash, and a severed Achilles tendon. Jerry, who was directly in the path of the oncoming vehicle, was hit head-on and pronounced dead on the scene.
Hoop, as most of us call him, is in high spirits despite the difficult road he faces. He has told us that he feels wealthy; not because of money and possessions, but because of something he believes is much more valuable, FAMILY AND FRIENDS. Hoop is a man with strong faith and still prays over every meal. He is a man who appreciates every blessing in his life, regardless of how small. Hoop has shown love to so many; children, grandchildren, family, friends and strangers. We need to pull together and return that love to Hoop. As so many of us do, Hoop lives from paycheck to paycheck. He is now facing at least six months of recuperation during which he will not be able to work. This accident has cost Hoop enough. We, as his friends, do not want it to cost him even more. We're asking you to help us help Hoop. We've set up this page so those that want to ease the burden he is facing can donate along with us. Any amount you are able to give is greatly appreciated.
While this page is set up for Randy Hooper, we are NOT forgetting Jerry. Jerry left behind a family with three small children. Like many of us at Jerry's Age, he did not have life insurance. Jerry lost his life answering a call for help; giving of himself. He represented every rider out there with a shared love of riding and he did not hesitate to ride for others. Jerry's family has arranged "The Last Ride and Memorial for Jerry Worley" will be held April 12, 2014  at St. Helena Forest Festival Park, 119 Third street in Greensburg, La. Ceremony begining at 11 am

with the ride to follow. An Account has been set up for Donations to Jerry through Regions Bank. The names on the account are: Stephanie Worley, Bethany Clement, and Melissa Worley.
