Scott Strange needs your help!

My Father, Scott Strange, at 48 years old was diagnosed with Stage 4 throat Cancer. I remember coming home after work on June 2nd 2014. I walked through the front door only to see my dad, the toughest man in the world, sitting there on the couch, holding my mom’s hand, crying. This was the most painful day of my life.

Scott was born and raised by his father, the infamous “Mayor of Washington Crossing,” Al, and mother, Fran Strange. He has worked pretty much his entire life to support himself and his family. Taking after his father, he is always there to lend a helping hand. Whether it be to check out the noise your car is making, getting your generator hooked up before the storm, moving furniture, or making sure your driveway is plowed after it snows. He is always there.

He manages to be up at 4:30 every morning, spend the day running back and forth to the quarries with his side-kick “Stang,” go home, do paperwork, make dinner, and spend quality time with his wife, also a local for generations; and his “kids,” Myself, Kurtis, and Melynda. He is also a new and very proud grandfather of 2 babies, Zelda Marie (2), and Jimmy who was born this past October.

He started Chemo in July and Radiation in August, and let me tell you, I don’t wish this treatment on my worst enemy. He lost over 50lbs and is not the same dad I knew before June 2nd. Chemo and radiation transforms a person like you wouldn’t believe. It’s not only hard on him, but the entire family too. But with the love and support from everyone, we are getting through it. He finished up treatment November 3rd and is now just awaiting to do the testing to see where his progress is.

While regaining his strength little by little, Scott hasn’t been able to run his business, “Strange Dog Hauling Inc”  to the max,  bringing our household down an entire income. In addition to the medical bills, while trying to get back on the road, Scott’s truck has gone under some major repairs bringing him down more. At this point, you feel like, “what’s next?” and “what do we do now?”

Being the strongest, most humble and selfless person I know, makes me feel like this is so unfair to happen to him, to happen to us. My dad is my Hero, my dad is invincible, nothing could ever happen to him. He has been my backbone for 26 years and always been at my rescue. I can’t imagine what I would do without him, or my family would do without him. He is our Rock. And now, he needs the help.

To see him smile again, be able to go back to his normal daily life, play with his grandchildren, would mean the world to us and of course, HIM. Thank you for taking to time to read our story and we would greatly appreciate any donation to help us stay afloat during this unspeakable time. Please also keep him and our family in your thoughts and prayers.
