For over three years now Megan Stieg has been fighting brain cancer. The fight has involved many doctor visits, cross-country trips, chemotherapy, radiation and multiple surgeries. Most recently, Megan traveled to UCLA for brain surgery and was enrolled in an experimental clinical trial known as immunotherapy.

Megan is one of the very few people in the world to experiment with this cutting edge treatment plan. While the surgery was a success (the doctors were able to remove all the visible tumor mass), unfortunately, Megan’s body rejected the immunotherapy brain infusion. Almost immediately after her first treatment, Megan ended up back in the Emergency Room with as severe case of Meningitis. Due to this extremely rare reaction, the doctors were forced to remove her from the trial as they felt continuing would be life threatening.

After about 6 weeks at UCLA, Megan finally returned home to Colorado to be reunited with her family, but with a lot of unknowns. Along with ongoing chemotherapy, she has been focused on rehabilitation relearning how to use the left side of her body all over again. That was until last month, when more bad news struck the Stieg Family. Megan’s recent MRI scan has revealed that the tumor has already grown back and is already bigger than what it was prior to the surgery in February. The doctors showed a deep concern and didn’t seem to act like there were many options left. Although like the true fighter that we know she is, Megan will not accept this fate without a fight. In July, Megan will be heading back to UCLA to enroll in yet another attempt with an experimental clinical trial and her third brain surgery within as many years.

The Stiegs need our help. They have 2 young boys (Parker and Keaton) and all the travel, doctor appointments, and surgeries have taken a major financial toll.

James and Megan’s friends want to help and this is why this page was created. We want to raise money to help them with this fight. The money raised will go towards anything they need help with babysitters, food, medical bills, travel, etc. We will also be hosting a bowling fundraiser at Woodlane Lanes in Livonia on July 26th at 7pm.

All the money generated here and there will also go to the Stiegs. You can learn more about our bowling fundraiser here: http://theross.com/stiegs/ Please join us in helping the Stiegs!
