Steve "Woodsie" Woods, a loving husband, devoted son and brother, and our dear friend. A longtime Guitarworks employee, Steve significantly impacted our lives at the store and will leave a void that cannot be filled. He was as sincere a man as has ever lived, wearing his heart on his sleeve and free from any façade. The walls will echo with his licks and his laughter.
A tremendous player, Steve was naturally proficient on a number of instruments including guitar, banjo, drums, mandolin and even bass harmonica. Woodsie, was a voracious consumer of music, with an extensive personal library and an encyclopedic knowledge of musicians, songwriters, singers and bands. A man of many hobbies, Steve was also a loving dog owner, avid fisherman, and Cubs fan.
We’ll miss him more than words can express and our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Jodi, his mother, sister, and the rest of his family.
Steve and Jodi were driving on the morning of March 29, 2018, when a car crossed the median line and hit their vehicle. Steve veered, taking the brunt of the force and saving Jodi's life. She is currently in the hospital in stable condition, but the unexpected nature of this event has left a need in covering Steve's funeral costs and Jodi's medical expenses.
All money raised here will go directly to the family of Steve Woods.
