St John Imaginers headed to DI Globals!

Hi friends and family! I wanted to tell you a little about Destination Imagination.  DI is a science and technology competion, and my teammates and I chose to do a skit about Going To Extremes. I cannot tell you exactly what we did in ours because it is confidential...we wouldn't want the other teams to see how awesome we are!

We spent months building our set and writing our script, then we practiced and practiced and practiced. We took our whole set to the Regional Competition last month, and WE WON!  Then we had about a month to improve and make changes, and then we went to the State competition last weekend.  

After the competition, they had an awards ceremony, where they select the top 2 or 3 teams from each challenge to move on to the Global Finals.  And guess what?  Our team came in second place!  We are going to Gobals where we will be competing with teams from all around the world. The whole Globals competition lasts a week. The competition is at the University of Tennessee, and it will be incredible! Destination Imagination is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization formed to inspire and equip students to become the next generation of leaders and innovators.  The Destination Imagination program encourages teams of learners to have fun, take risks, focus and frame challenges while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), the arts and service learning. 

DI teaches creativity, teamwork, and problem solving. At the Global Finals, our Imaginers will compete with teams from every US state and over 30 countries from around the world. THESE KIDS ARE AWESOME. They are the future, and deserve this opportunity. 

We're excited to represent Virginia at this global competition, but we need your help. Would you consider a donation to our team?
