My Solo Mom Needs Help

Donation protected
My Mom isn't a single Mom, she is a Solo Mom. She has never had anyone by her side to help raise my brother and I. She had to drop out of her senior year in college when she was raped and got pregnant with my brother. Her Mom and siblings told her she was worthless and have treated all of us like crap our entire lives. In their eyes we are not good enough to be part of their blood family. She fell in love with my Dad when my brother was little, but he ran away when they found out she was pregnant with me. Doctors had told my Mom she would never get pregnant again, so she always tells me that I am her miracle baby. My Mom never let us feel like we were abandoned kids, even though we were. She has always tried to make the best of everything in our lives, but it has never been easy. She has to do everything alone and she always puts us first. We grew up with almost everything that two parent families had. Pets, sports, scouting, musical instruments, camps. My mom was always helping out neighbors and making us do volunteer work at food pantries and other events. She has been an amazing Mom, and a great example. I don't know how she has done it all by herself. I remember when I was little and our apartment flooded. Everything we owned got destroyed. But my Mom turned it into an adventure instead of being sad. She has always been so brave. But a few years ago a tragedy hit and our lives have never been the same. My Mom went from having a happy, successful life to living a nightmare. My neighbor had died in his bed leaving his two little girls home alone. They knocked on the door and asked my Mom for help. After seeing my neighbors dead body my Mother had a really hard time forgetting what she experienced that day. She was diagnosed with PTSD and our life completely changed. She lost her job, lost her car, couldn't pay bills, had to file for bankruptcy, gained a lot of weight, and could barely get out of bed each day. All of the people my mother had helped throughout her life were nowhere in sight to help her when she really needed it. But she continued to be a really great Mom. She helped my brother get into an amazing college where he could keep playing the sport that he loves. She homeschooled me when I was being bullied in middle school and couldn't stand going into school anymore. She has always had our back, but nobody has ever had hers. A few months ago she decided to have us move to a new city so she could get a new start and try to get back to being the person she used to be. She got a job, found us a house to rent and moved us within a few short months. One of her good friends lent her some money to put down a security deposit for the rental. The house we moved into had mold in the walls, bugs everywhere and quickly proved to be a nightmare. My Mom fought with the owners over the gross conditions and they threw us out. She hired a lawyer to fight them but all he did was take her money and not do the job that he was supposed to do to help our family. We moved into a temporary rental for a few months, but have to be out by tomorrow and have nowhere else to go. The job my Mom was working at laid her off last month, so we are living off her unemployment right now, which isn't very much. She keeps applying for jobs but nobody has called to hire her yet. I hear her crying every night and I know she is scared. I am, too. We thought we had found a great apt to move into, but they turned us down because my Mom has a medical bill in collections that she hasn't been able to pay off from 2 years ago. She said she called some local shelters to see if they could take us in, but they won't let me be at the same place with her since I am a teenager. She is trying hard to figure something out. We used to have such a great "normal" life. My brother got hurt at college, so we have to drive 13 hours to go be with him for surgery in a few days. We have enough money for the car trip and a week in the hotel, but we have nowhere to go when we come back. I want to help my family but I am not old enough to get a job here yet. Posting this plea was all I could think of to do for my Mom. She is a really great person and knowing her, she will want to keep a list of anyone who helps so she will be sure to pay them back someday. She never likes taking anything from anyone, but right now we really need some help. Thanks for listening to our story.
