Tori's Medical Treatment

Tori is a kind-hearted teenager who has gone through a life-changing experience and painful surgery this past year due to a discovery of a rare connective tissue disorder. Tori must endure a high-level of joint pain due to skeletal and muscle afflictions. 

The right ventricle of Tori's heart was being compressed due to a sternal malformation which resulted in a stainless steel bar to expand her chest to allow for greater cardiac and pulmonary function. She has also been diagnosed with other cardiac insufficiencies, an autonomic nervous system issue, and is also undergoing testing for endocrinology difficulties as a result of the recent discovery of this rare disorder.  In the meantime, she must experience the post-surgical discomfort and go to many physician and physical/occupational therapy appointments in Orlando and Gainesville for treatment. 

Tori needs several PT and OT appointments to help with her joint hypermobility, increase endurance, and help with daily pain.  In order to assist with treatment that is needed, we are asking for the generosity of our family and friends to help with a month-long hospital treatment program that will be vital in increasing Tori's strength and her ability to cope with pain. This GoFundMe account will help to help offset the already mounting medical bills. She is undergoing genetic testing to help the clinicians pinpoint further treatment and to help identify other issues Tori may experience throughout adulthood.
