My New York Debut

My name is Skye Jafferian and I'm a junior in high school. Ive been acting since I was 9 years old, and I knew from the moment I first stepped on stage that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Ive been attending a School for performing arts where I take acting and voice lessons. At this school I've been able to learn more and more about the craft and put what I've learned into action in many performances every year. However, this summer I have the opportunity to take a big step forward in my acting career; my New York off-Broadway debut! Ive been accepted to attend the National Theater for Student Artists (NTSA), the United States national youth theater. If I'm able to raise the money to go I will not only be able to perform in Loserville at the York Theater, but also train with NYC-based professionals all day and improve significantly in my ability. I need around $5,000 to get there, which will pay for tuition, meals, accommodations, and transportation. If I manage to get any extra, I'll be able to attend the Shaw Festival on one of NTSA's midweek excursions and train with professionals there as well. I have big plans for my future and I believe this program can give me a huge jumpstart in the right direction. Not to mention a great addition to my resume.
