Sweet Sierra's funky foot fund!

Hi, my name is Sierra. 27. Eternal optimist. Waitress. 3 years ago on St. Patricks day I went to the emergency room for foot problems.. little did I know that day would forever change my life. I was told I had 'necrotizing fasciitis' a flesh eating bone eating infection. I got transferred from a hospital in Beckley, West Virginia to MCV in Richmond, Virginia.  A $5000 ambulance ride later they managed to save my foot but more importantly my life. I was extremely fortunate to get to the hospital when I did and receive the doctor I did. He was one of the best and certainly proved himself to be. After a full year of 5 surgeries ranging from a skin graft, a pin being put in my foot to only later be removed, a bone graft, and multiple surgeries to clean the infection out.. not to mention having home health care come to my home for 3 months, a PIC line for 2 months, and a wound vac for 1 month... I thought it all was over. At the time I had health insurance (not the best, but I had it) I was unable to work for over a year but could not receive any government help while my medical bills were easily piling up to around $100k or more. When I started working again my insurance changed and I was unable to go to my final doctors appointment to discuss my foot or the future of my foot.. which brings me to today. Last week I was working and noticed my foot having issues (same foot) and I just felt off. I knew I had to go to the emergency room, I was admitted shortly after arriving. After multiple x-rays, multiple cultures, a MRI, and an I&D (cleaning out of the infection) This time I was told it was a skin infection and not the bone.. AWESOME NEWS! My foot is still extremely swollen and am unable to work and my prescriptions cost me over $100. Unfortunately this time I don't even have crummy insurance.. I have NONE. I currently have all my previous debt plus the debt I'm currently accruing. I'm an extremely hard worker with a very positive attitude and I know there is a bright light at the end of this tunnel. Right now I'm told I'll ultimately need another surgery to reconstruct my foot in hopes to end any future infections. As I said before I'm a waitress, my foot is a necessity to this job and most others avaliable. Ultimately once I figure out all my medical debt I plan to go back to school and get a degree in Social Work.  I'm usually the one helping and not asking for it but I'm at a point where I'm unsure what to do. I'm currently changing the dressings on my foot myself, have multiple sutures with a lot of pain but I need/have to work to live. I guess this where I break down and say PLEASE.. anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. My bills are racking up. I don't want a pity party or anyone to feel bad for me, because I don't even feel bad for myself. Things happen, I just have to smile and keep on keeping on. Again, any help you or someone you know can offer would be much appreciated and so helpful to help me get back on track. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

Much peace, love, & posi vibes,

Sierra
