Sister Sister

For anyone who has met Shawna, you know she is an alpaca loving, bingo going, karaoke singing, dart playing, God worshiping dog mom with a huge heart. For those of you who know her well, you know that she has lived with a blood disease (aplastic anemia) for most of her life. Until recently, her blood counts were high enough to allow her to maintain a healthy and normal lifestyle.  Over the past year, her counts have dropped significantly and she been receiving multiple blood transfusions every week to maintain a sense of normalcy. The doctors have decided it is time for her to undergo a stem cell transplant to cure her once and for all! On March 29th she will be given a round of chemotherapy to prepare her body for the transplant. Due to the concoction of chemo drugs, she will most likely lose her hair.  On April 4th she will receive stem cells from me (the sister who apparently stole all the good blood) and will be on her way to recovery.

Many of you have reached out to ask how you can help. In order of importance:

1) Prayer, texts, DM's, letters, love
2) Support to help us purchase a good wig or two/lighten the burden of medical expenses while she is unable to work
3) Tips on how to rock head scarves
