Send Selah to YWAM Australia

Dear Family and Friends,

I am thrilled to announce that I will be leaving for Australia to do a 5 month Discipleship Training School (DTS) with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) in July! This last year has been a crazy road of figuring out where God wants me after high school, and so after much prayer, this is where I believe He is leading me.

YWAM's goal is to help people to know God and to make Him known and the DTS is designed to help students understand God more deeply, live more like Jesus and identify their unique gifts and purpose to use in missions. DTS is a full-time, residential training course which begins with an 12 week classroom phase, followed by an 8 week outreach time. The DTS emphasizes cross-cultural exposure and global awareness, preparing students to answer the call to, "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19).

The exciting and unique part of this DTS is that in addition to the schooling and outreach, students also get to participate in a program called Youth Street that ministers to local teens. Youth Street happens every Saturday for youth in the community ages 12-17. There are five different groups the teens can participate in during the day including drama, hip-hop dance, skating, music, and art. The day then wraps up with everyone coming together for dinner and a church service.

Since I really would like to work with youth in a setting similar to this, I'm excited to be able to participate in a leadership role and learn all I can while serving these teens.

Your prayers would be greatly appreciated both in leading up to my departure and during my time there. Please pray that preparations and travels go smoothly and that all of the necessary funds come in. Please also pray that God will unify our team and give us wisdom during the entire DTS. And lastly, that God would prepare the hearts of those we will meet to receive His Son, and that our team would be effective at meeting the needs of those we come in contact with.

I would greatly appreciate any donation to help cover the cost of my outreach. Through working and generous gifts, I have been able to cover the costs for the schooling portion as well as my visa and airfare, however, I am still in need of funds to cover the outreach phase which will be around $4,000.
