Our Family's Search For Elizabeth (Ricks) Sullivan

***Update 1/15/15 Unfortunately law enforcement and a private detective that has taken on our case has still not been able to find a trace of Elizabeth. However, in the past two months since our return from San Diego the money raised through this page has been able to help support the search for Elizabeth. Here are the ways that the money has been used to date:

-- Printing 1,000 11x17 posters and 2500 business card handouts with Elizabeth's image and information. These cards were printed in English and Spanish as San Diego and surrounding areas have a heavy Spanish population. The private detective and her team have regularly deployed and posted these signs and distributed these cards

-- Surveillance - while we cannot share who and what has been surveilled we have used funds to support surveillance activities

The money spent thus far leaves a small remainder of funds approximately $2,500 to support future surveillance activity and to provide a reward should someone eventually come forward and provide information leading to Elizabeth's whereabouts. Please understand that what we anticipated spending funds on has shifted over time and we are doing our best to share what we can when we know it. Here are updates that we can share related specifically to the case:

-- The detective on Elizabeth's case has since changed from Detective James Hunter to Detective Mo Parga

-- Additional specialty departments at SDPD such as SIU (Special Investigations Unit) have been added to Detective Parga’s team to increase the search efforts. Our investigator regularly meets with these teams. For sanctity of the case she can not share what she knows (leads and tips they are working etc)

-- We have been assured that all local hospitals, morgues, jails, homeless and womens shelters have been checked several times

-- Elizabeths information is in a national law enforcement database that means that if she appears - is arrested etc - her name will pop up

- Family and volunteers have been calling key businesses and public entities, such as hotels, schools, etc., so the word and poster can be spread verbally and by direct email. The investigator has coordinated volunteers and other private investigators to conduct these phone calls and emails

- The investigator would like additional funds to enlist the help of experts  (specifics cannot be divulged but these experts have been found to be extremely helpful) and to provide volunteers that can hang posters and hand out cards. We would like to provide them with rewards for their free assistance, such as gas cards and breakfasts for coordinating meetings to encourage volunteers to get the word out.

- The investigator would like to fund a billboard so the general public can be aware of this urgent need to Find Elizabeth.

Any additional funds that we raise at the moment will be used to pay for our private detective's time and resources. While she has taken on our case pro bono she does require funds for printing materials, time spent (actual suveillance activities etc), enlisting other outside resources.  Funds that we can provide her with also mean that she can focus more time on Elizabeth's case (while working with SDPD) turning down other fully paid work that comes her way.

***Update 11/12: My Uncle and I were able to accomplish a great deal during our trip to San Diego. While there we met with the Detective on Elizabeth’s case, visited with Elizabeth’s children and husband several times – the girls look well, my Uncle filmed a segment with NBC7 San Diego making a plea for Elizabeth’s safe return (http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/Father-Pleads-for-Safe-Return-of-Missing-Navy-Wife-282028951.html#) and we were able to establish several more contacts at the police department that assured my Uncle that there will be more detectives assigned to Elizabeth’s case. We are hopeful and prayerful that this task force does indeed help us get Elizabeth back. Since Monday my Uncle has been in daily contact with a representative from this task force.

***Update 11/7: The family is overwhelmed by all of the support given on this page, all of the prayers sent, and all of the kind words and gestures given.  Tomorrow morning Elizabeth’s father and I will fly to San Diego to meet with the detective on her case and to visit with Elizabeth’s husband and children. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers.***

***Update 10/26: As of today the family of Elizabeth (Ricks) Sullivan is offering a $1,000 CASH REWARD to anyone who provides accurate information that leads to Elizabeth’s current whereabouts. The information will post to the public facebook page  today“Missing: Navy Wife and Mother Liz (Ricks) Sullivan”. Anyone with information should contact Detective James C. Hunter at [phone redacted] or [email redacted]diego.gov. The remainder of the funds will be ready for the following - legal and investigative counsel, and other necessary arrangements to support the search for Elizabeth. ***

***Update: As of the afternoon of 10/21 the family was made aware that there have been several sightings of Elizabeth. Elizabeth’s father is in very close contact with the detective dedicated to Elizabeth’s case. Elizabeth’s entire family is hopeful and prayerful that these sightings are in fact Elizabeth. This campaign will continue to be active until we have found Elizabeth. Thank you for all of the kind donations, thoughts, prayers, and shares.***

As many of you may be aware, Elizabeth (Ricks) Sullivan of San Diego, California – our daughter, niece, cousin, and friend - has been missing since Monday, October 13.

Since Elizabeth’s disappearance, the Ricks Family has enlisted the support of the local San Diego ABC 10 news affiliate to spread the word  of her disappearance and to help find her.

Elizabeth is a married loving mother of two young children – Ryan and Grier – and our family will do everything in our power to find her and bring her back home safely.

We set up a GoFundMe account to provide financial assistance to support our aggressive efforts to find Elizabeth. The funds will be used to offer a reward for information leading to her whereabouts, legal and investigative counsel, and other necessary arrangements to support the search for Elizabeth, led by the Ricks Family.

The Ricks Family appreciates any support you can give.

Love,

Elizabeth (Ricks) Sullivan's Family
