Scott Buckholz Medical Bills

As many of you who follow me, Michael Forsythe from Monroe, CT, on Facebook know, my longtime friend and Yorktown High School classmate, Scott Buckholz, is fighting for his life after developing complications following open heart surgery. He's endured several invasive surgeries and has been in ICU for weeks. His medical expenses will easily be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not more. Though improving, he's still critical, and his road to recovery will be a long and expensive one. Luckily for Scott and his wonderful wife, JoAnn, they have medical insurance. However, even with insurance, out of pocket expenses will be high, and no doubt Scott will be out of work for months. Getting Scott healthy should be first and foremost on their minds, not bills!

Anyone that hasn't had the pleasure of knowing Scott is missing out on one of life's true treasures. His storytelling is legendary and his infectious laugh is captivating. To put it mildly, he's a wonderful, larger-than-life character. He's a bear of a man with the heart of lion. His strength and courage throughout this ordeal has been nothing short of remarkable. I admire Scott and JoAnn for how they've endured, and will have to continue to endure on Scott's long road to recovery and rehab. The guy is Superman!

I started this gofundme page because of the amazing outpouring of support from so many people, even those that don't know Scott well, or at all. I believe your support and positive thoughts have played a major role in encouraging him to keep fighting.  So many people have reached out to me asking how they can help. Although we can't help him medically, we CAN help. This gofundme is one way you can make a difference in their lives. They will use the money to help offset their out-of-pocket medical expenses. Scott and JoAnn have NO idea about this. My idea, not theirs. They will probably want to strangle me.... That is, until they realize just how much we all wanted to show our love and support. Please consider contributing.  All contributions will be given to Scott and JoAnn via check. I will present the check to them with a card containing all the names of people who contributed. The amount you give doesn't matter. Give what you want, but give with your heart. If you can't donate money, we also accept prayers.
