Medical Expenses /Scott Dearman

Please help our friend Scott Dearman. Scott is the sole provider for his family and has recently suffered from some severe back pain. After reluctantly going to the doctor, Scott learned that the source of his back pain is that a disc in his vertebrae is fractured and some pieces of the bone have traveled into his nerve tissue and muscle. The largest piece has landed on the nerves that lead into his leg and lower back.

Now Scott is a responsible adult and has insurance offered from his employer. However, in order for the insurance to help with costs, Scott has to meet his $6,000 deductible first. He desperately needs this surgery to remove the bone fragments but is still $3,800 away. The longer it takes to gather the money, the more pain he endures.

Scott is a good, honest, fun Christian man. He is part of a gospel quartet (when he can move) and is a devoted husband and father. He is a very proud man and not one to ask for a lot – so when he asks for help, it’s because he needs it. He spends more than 40 hours a week working for the same employer for the past 10 years. His wife of over 20 years has recently become disabled and lost her ability to work so Scott is the breadwinner for the family.

We are a tight group and we are more family than coworkers. Unfortunately this is more than we can handle as well. We are all asking for help achieving the $3,800 Scott needs for this surgery. Thank you.
