Tera Hennesy-Henry's family and friends are uniting together to raise $19,100 to pay for her surgery and other medical expenses because she has no medical insurance. They have already raised $9,800 for the doctors cost.
Tera was born and raised in Gainesville,Tx. She is a 1995 graduate of Gainesville High School. She married her high school sweetheart Michael Henry on July 25,1997. Tera and Michael have four children Hayley 15, Alexis 11, Mariah 9, and Michael Jr. 7. Her kids keep her very busy and active in the community.
Michael is a truck driver so Tera is both parents during the week taking the kids to places they need to be.
The last few years have been rough on them. In 2009 Tera had a stroke which paralyzed her left side. She went through physical therapy every day and eventually her strength in her left side came back and she could walk again.
She hasnt been 100% since the stroke but she stayed strong enough to be able to do all her motherly duties.
In 2012 she started having issues with her stomach. She spent a lot of time in the hospital and to make everything worse Michael was laid of from his job.
In December 2012 Tera was diagnosed with gastropersis that is where part of her stomach was not able to function right. If it was left untreated she would have eventually needed a feeding tube. She had two options. Live with it or have surgery to remove the part that wasnt working. She choose the surgery.
The recovery period for the surgery was 8 weeks and with her medical expenses and Michael being laid off they had no choice but to give up their house and move in with her parents. A few weeks later Michael got another job and things were getting better and August 2013 they moved back their own place.
On September 13,2013 Tera started feeling real bad and had severe abdominal pain. She thought it was just a stomach virus. Days went by and she wasnt any better so she went to the ER. She was severely dehydrated, she could barely swallow, couldnt hold anything down. The abdominal pain was worse her liver enzymes were extremely high. The doctors suspected hepatitis so she was admitted to the hospital September 20,2013. She spent a week in the hospital getting medicine through the IV and getting her rehydrated. There were several test ran and she was diagnosed with severe gastritis and duodenits and blockage in here small intestine. If the gastritis goes untreated it will destroy the lining of her stomache and liver.
Tera has been put on medicine keep her comfortable but she is in need of a intestinal bypass. If she doesnt get the surgery her liver will be effected and as everyone knows no one can live with out a liver.
She has four kids that need their mother. Please help us in raising money to save this mothers life.
