Shanti Rom, a wild horse rescue is in need of medical help. He is still being assessed at UC Davis as to the origin of his illness, but they do know he needs a blood transfusion immediately.
Jetara Séhart is his loving owner, who rescued this horse when her own heart was shattered from the loss of both of her sons in a tragic car accident 1 1/2 years ago here in Marin County. Jetara has been through pain that is unimaginable, yet her recovering has been helped by this rescue, who, himself, was in need of comfort and care.
Evidently, after admitting Shanti, the hospital has not been negotiable with Jetara regarding the payment of $2,500 to release him. They have only assessed vitals, given him fluids, but no transfusion. She offered to make payments, but to no avail. So, she is moving him to another hospital (all unfolding now), but will, undoubtedly, be facing high vet bills to get her beloved Shanti the medical attention he clearly needs. If he is bleeding internally, he may be facing surgery.
Every little bit helps. Please help both Jetara and Shanti, if you can.
