Hope for Sarah Celeste

Don protégé
Our daughter, Sarah Celeste Brown has always been a lover of the outdoors, an avid fisherman, martial artist, basketball and soccer player, actress and stage manager. Unfortunately, she is now chronically ill with gastroparesis, pancreatitis and diabetic ketoacidosis. Often, one of or sometimes all of these conditions send Sarah into life threatening crisises at any given moment. Instead of fishing trips, frequent trips to the ER (over 200 visits in the past five years) and inpatient hospital stays have become the routine of her life. She spent the month of March 2014 in ICU.

Finally there is a ray of hope. She was recently accepted for evaluation at the Keck Medical Center – Gastroparesis Institute at USC. She has been through so many hospitalizations due to her condition, along with diabetic ketoacidosis, bleeding ulcers, esophagitis, and pancreatitis.  This may be Sarah’s last shot at some quality of life.

If she is accepted, her road to recovery will be long, and the last thing any family wants to worry about is the financial impact. We already face over $183,000 in medical bills, but giving up on our daughter is not an option. This fund will not only provide medical support but also support for her living expenses, physical therapy, and other incidentals along the way.

So far there has been an outpouring of generosity from family and friends, this fund hopes to continue a celebration of that support and help bring peace of mind to my darling Sarah through this time.  Thank you for helping us save Sarah Celeste.
