Friends and Family for Allawni

Donation protected

My 18 year old daughter Allawni moved 1 1/2 years ago to Atlanta with her dad has been in a Georgia jail for the last seven months facing 20 years to life. This happened because two girls she was with one night decided they wanted to rob the guy giving them a ride and take his car. Allawni had no idea these girls were going to do this and begged for them to let her out, and when they did she went straight to the police. Unfortunatley because she was there and didn't do anything during the crime to help the victim, she's facing the same charges as the other two young ladies involved.
My daughter is not a criminal, although not innocent, she would not intentionally hurt anyone. She was scared and didn't know what to do at the time. These two girls weren't even her close friends, just two girls she met in her apartment complex she decided to hang with one night.
To date, not much has changed. At this point there has been no idictment and no case updates and thats with a $20,000.00 lawyer that I make payments to once a month.

As a mom I feel so helpless and defeated because I have no power over this situation. If you're parent- you know how I feel. We as parents feel we can fix any situation our kids face; but with this situation, my hands are tied. The only thing I can do is retain a great lawyer and PRAY PRAY and PRAY, because unfortunatley this is considered the most conservative county in the state of Georgia and they are known to throw many young African American kids in jail for YEARS on first time offenses!!!! So without a great lawyer we can assume she will get the maximum time they try to give her; with a great lawyer, we have a chance to negotiate a deal and get her back home to CALIFORNIA and free.

If you know me, asking for help is my last resort but the high price of a lawyer and traveing back and forth to Atlanta has been tough. With no help from her Father I've been paying all the lawyer fees, paying for the phone calls, writing her weekly to keep her encouraged and flying out to Georgia at least once a month to see her and meet with the lawyer and local city and state officials. All while trying to maintain my career and a normal life for her brother Boom at home.

I thank you in advance for your support, love, and generosity!
