Help Rescued Cat Hit By Car

My husband and I found a cat last night around 10:30PM that was lying in the middle of the street, sitting up. It was obvious that it had been hit by a car so we turned around. Wrapped in my shirt we took him to the emergency pet clinic near Stone Oak Parkway - VREC. He was stabilized in an O2 cage and given pain medication. It looks like he will need a complete jaw surgery for fractures that have to be repaired and a feeding tube. Just admitted him and stabilizing him was $1400. He is a fighter who was forgotten and left to die in the road. My husband and I are able to take care of him through rehab but cannot afford jaw surgery and treatment. I do not want to give up on him. When he has stabilized and already doing better. His pupils are normal and reactive, he is aware of the doctor and nurses working on him, has leg movement in all four legs is just struggling to hold them under him. Right now damage is not 100% accurate as he is still considered in critical condition. Long term he may be a special needs kitty. We are willing to foster and find him a forever home, too. We are desperate and need help!


UPDATE: He was Feline Leukemia and AIDS negative. No other damage shown via X-rays at this time either. He was taken out of the O2 cage and is breathing on his own and stable. He is currently on IV fluids, electrolytes and pain medication until a specialty surgeon comes to work on Monday. His jaw, as shown above, is taped to help with pain an movement. He has two major jaw fractures and will require surgery and a feeding tube. Pupils are normally dilated and he is responsive to touch and tries to crawl around. May have a pelvic fracture -- however no surgery is needed for that and it should heal on its own.
