The platform was opened on 07/01/2018. By 24/12/2019 the total amount raised is USD 8243. The amount was used to cover Sasha's spinal cord surgery on 25/11/2018, her planned trips to the "Rambam" clinic on 18/06-04/07/2019 for her urinal examination and 04-12/11/2019 for full video urodynamic study including EMG.
===========================

After Sasha's last surgery, which was a success for the girl and made her stronger in her body (please read the updates), doctors started to focus on her kidney related problems. Sasha made 2 planned trips to the Israeli clinic “Rambam” in June-July and in November 2019, where additional examinations were done (please read the updates on the platform).

Doctors diagnosed massive bilateral reflux (grade 5) meaning that once the bladder is full (which is a bit small for the girl at her age) the formed pressure redirects the urine back to the kidneys destroying them. At this point, Sasha’s kidneys are working at 20%. Doctor’s advised that the girl is not that far from the start of dialysis and the mother should consider kidney transplantation in the nearest future. But, and there is always that but, even transplantation can’t be performed until the reflux will not be eliminated as even the transplant organ may be damaged by it with the time.

So far, no one can say for sure how long Sasha’s kidneys will hold on. Whether it is 6 months or 6 years – no one knows. It was recommended to make often check-ups at her native city and stick to the treatment plan. This will enable them to keep a close eye on her kidneys and not miss the point of no return for the girl.

As a result of the above-mentioned trips, Israeli doctors proposed an operation - "the robotic-assisted laparoscopic bladder augmentation" - which will help to extend the life of Sasha’s kidneys. They will also seek to find a solution for fixing her ureters.

This fundraising campaign aims to help Sasha’s mom cover USD 71 946 for their trip to Israel’s clinic “Rambam” in 2020. When exactly this will happen - we don't know yet. It depends on the donations and Sasha's mom also tries to find a foundation that will help cover these costs directly to the clinic.

Sasha is one of the strongest 10-year-old girls. She’s been fighting her diagnosis for years and we all believe that she will beat most of them sooner or later. But Sasha and her mom still need the help of people for this journey ahead of them.

If you are able and would like to contribute, please go ahead and do it here. Thank you for your help and generosity.
