A SPACE To Tell Their Story
Our story begins with 2 young people from New Haven, CT trying to build a successful business with a heart for helping our community in meaningful ways. We are Aligning, a marketing company that supports businesses in sharing their messages with the world. 

Everyone has a story, yet not everyone gets to share it the same way.
With an official business and ambitious attitudes, we embarked on this entrepreneurial journey. After connecting with local businesses that could be our clients, it didn’t take long to realize that many of the organizations we worked with could not afford to market themselves effectively or at a pace fast enough to keep up with how quickly large companies produce and distribute content. We saw this particularly with nonprofits and local startups who were all providing important solutions to the community, but still lacked the resources and funding to consistently engage stakeholders through mission sharing and the simple act of sharing their story.  We begin to think of the many ways in which lack of resources affects not only companies but everyday people and decided to come up with a solution. 

Our solution is SPACE. 

In summer 2019, we started a nonprofit called SPACE.  SPACE is a community-driven digital media production studio with affordable access to training and tools for creating videos, audio, graphic design, and photography.    

It's a 1600 square ft studio partitioned into 3 areas of operation; one area for  videography, one area for photography and one area for audio. 

Why SPACE is important 
We are breaking down the barriers of successful content creation and compelling story telling by eliminating the need for large production budgets and expensive degrees. We are providing affordable education, equipment access, and hands-on experience in digital production. Complete with intern and income opportunities for trainees.

Generally, in order to have access to a high quality production studio, one must pay expensive hourly rates for just the space and then must either own, borrow or rent equipment to carry out the project. SPACE’s unique self-sustaining model allows members to pay a small monthly fee in exchange for hours of ongoing accessibility to Space, its equipment, and training.

We are creating SPACE as a hub that connects the creatives, entrepreneurs, and other community members of this city to create media content that is original and of high-quality. We are also providing media education and a platform for creativity.
