Ryder Johnson's New Leg!!

My dad, Ryder Johnson Jr., has always been the kind of man who gives 110% in everything he does, including his recovery. You may or may not know, on July 8th 2013, we came minutes away from losing him forever.
On his way to work on his motorcycle that morning, he was hit by a man too in a rush to stop at the stop sign and peeled across the intersection hitting my dad. My dad was in such critical condition that he was helicoptered to ORMC to have 14 surgeries in 2 two weeks. One of which was an 8 hour surgery to attempt to save his left leg. Though the doctors tried everything possible, they had to amputate it just before Christmas that year.
Here we are three years later and he finally has the opportunity to get his very own leg! Up until this time he has been borrowing a used leg from his amazing rehab facility. It has it's limitations though. We've finally cut through the red tape and found him an insurance company that will halp cover him to get a prosthetic of his own. The new leg will be formed to fit his unique body type. It will also give him the ability to walk on ground other than a flat, hard surface, to walk up stairs, to go down a slope, to walk backwards, to go out in the rain, to ride a bike, and to dance! Things so easy to take for granted, he has struggled with for the past few years. He did not deserve this fate, but he sure does deserve this shot at feeling close to normal again.
Ryder amazes us all with his continual strength. Though he struggles with frustration and impatience, he continues to persevere with humor and hope. Any EMT who reads his file can tell you this man should not be alive from the sustained injuries. Yet, he is doing better than anyone could have dreamed! My dad defied the odds and was determined to go back to work as soon as he recovered. Among other awards, he has recently won the Super Star of the year award at Hilton. That's who he is...a hard working Superstar like no other and a role model for all.
Our lives would not be the same without him in it, so now is our chance to give him 110% in trying to get him this leg! Without any payouts coming from the trial for possibly several years, and only some insurance help, we're asking for your help to reach the $2,750 upfront payment it'll cost. From the bottom of our hearts, my entire family would greatly appreciate any donation you would like to give towards being able to afford this miracle that's going to change his life. Thank you!!!
