Ruth is a dear friend of mine.
She is an artist and an art teacher. We have been colleagues for 10 years. I witnessed her supportive teaching style and the solid impression she left in her students. Her art is innovative and intrigues me for her ability to mix media, although producing a cohesive result. In her own words: " My process in my art, as in my life, is to enter into the mystery, with curiosity as to what will emerge, but also always with the intention towards reconciliation, wholeness, balance, perhaps moving and alive or even just joyful or whimsical fun".
A little bit more than a year ago, Ruth retired from teaching to devote herself to painting. Shortly after, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
It has been a hard year that has left physical and financial scars.
She now needs some help to pay the medical bills in full.
Never a woman to despair, Ruth started to pursue her old greeting card-making idea. Her friends contributed their opinion to help her pick 5 images among her paintings. Her brother helped with the digital version of her art. She chose envelops, paper, clear plastic protectors and boxes to make beautiful gift sets. Now she is ready to launch, but she needs seed money to pay for the material.
