Please Help Rob after Pacemaker Surgery

Donation protected

It was Easter AND my birthday. Robert was working on homework when he had hs first episode. He thought he had a seizure because he doesn't remember much except that he was shaking. I told him to take a break, but about an hour later he ended up passing out on me. I was extremely scared and immediately took him to the ER where he had several more episodes.

His heart was stopping for 5-10 seconds, causing him to faint due to lack of oxygen to his brain. His heart would reboot and he would awake with seizure like shakes. He spent 4 long days in critical care with AED pads on him in case his heart stopped. Being in the hospital was very tough for him, myself and our family. Up until that point, he was an active, healthy 30 year old. By the grace of God, an amazing doctor and nursing staff, he is thankfully still here today with a pacemaker that makes sure his heart stays running.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ROBERT & OUR FAMILY:

This past year has been tough for our family. I found out I have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and having children will prove to be difficult for us. This random heart failure has simply compiled on a life of adversity which Robert has had to overcome. At a very young age, he had to take care of himself because of a biological mother who felt drug use and partying were more important than feeding, clothing and taking care of her son. I will spare you the myriad of details, other than he had to grow up fast, at the sacrifice of a good part of his childhood.

Robert has grown up to be very positive in nature and continues to stay positive despite this life changing event. He's also extremely giving and loves to help people where he can. Robert LOVES basketball (Allen Iverson being his favorite player) and has a passion for fitness. He works FT and goes to school FT as well. He works very hard without ever asking for handouts, a work ethic instilled in him by a great man, his father. He is by no means someone looking to get over, we could just use a little help with these massive medical bills coming in for the surgery, his continued quarterly visits and the surgeries he'll have to undergo about every 10 years.

Thanks for taking the time to read his story and please remember NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL. :)
