Hi friends and family,
The Riskey-Johnson family is trying hard to relocate to Traverse City, MI in June and needs your help!
We desire to give our children a better environment to grow up in than Milwaukee,WI, leaving the smog, crime, and crappy governor behind! Relocating there could present schooling opportunities that fit more with our family's needs (college and primary schools). It could also bring us closer to more supportive friends and family, and other resources, which are greatly needed with Elliot's condition.
In addition, relocating would mean Trysten can be near his grandmother and aunt from his biological father's side of the family Trysten tells me everyday how he wants to be close to them and his great grandma "Gypsy". Gypsy is excellent with Trysten and Elliot, and has also been very helpful to John and myself in moving into our most recent apartment here in Milwaukee. It would be wonderful to be closer to her also.
For myself and John, it could very well open up more opportunities career-wise. It could also give us the chance to buy a house, settle down, and give our children many more opportunities in a healthier environment. The school system in Traverse City has better standards for their students than Milwaukee and also offers a dual enrollment program in NMC as well as a career tech center.
Anyways, these are just some of the ways we feel relocating to Traverse City might help benefit our family. We are asking for help from family and friends to make it happen! While we have some money set aside, a moving truck, gas, transferring licenses and certificates, and getting established 450 miles away can get expensive quite quickly.
We are aiming to raise $1,000 from donations and we are also holding a large rummage sale to help make our move possible. Please donate to our fund if you are able! Every little bit counts to us and we appreciate the help greatly! If you're unable, please share our fundraiser on social media and help us reach our goal!
