Ride Forever: Aaron Luckett

This is the page to benefit my best friend Aaron Luckett.

Aaron was diagnosed with NK/T-Cell Lymphoma on July 23rd, when a golf-ball sized tumor was removed from his nasal passage. NK/T-Cell is a very rare and aggressive type of lymphoma; about 800 cases per year in the United States are recorded. Aaron and Sara contacted an oncologist at The James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State who specializes in T-Cell Lymphomas and has treated NK/T-Cell successfully within the last five years. On August 5th, Aaron was admitted there and two days later began a rigorous chemotherapy schedule--five days of inpatient chemo, 16 days off at home, for six cycles.

Aaron's first round of chemo presented itself as several good days, followed by several bad, but on the whole, was successful. The best part: his cancer responded to the chemo, visibly shrinking the first day, and freeing him of the fevers and night sweats he was getting regularly. Unfortunately, he got an infection which extended our five day stay to a two week stay, and those were some bad days.

Aaron was released from the hospital on August 18th, and is home now, enjoying the days before heading back for the second cycle. He's feeling well besides being tired, which is entirely expected.

Aaron's co-workers have donated their vacation time to him, they have set him up with a mobile workstation so that he can work when he has the strength, and have been nothing short of amazing.

I started this page to help my best friend and his wife in the fight of a lifetime. And if you know Aaron, you know he would do the same for you.

Thank you for the support. Anything and everything will help.
