Help Titin’s rice for local community project

Hello,
My name is Titin and I have been working in the agricultural space for close to 2 years now. It has been a learning and rewarding process. I am glad to say I am one of the people providing food and supplying to the local market. It is nice to pass by the market and see heaps of rice sold by local vendors, earning a living out of it.
Currently I work together with about 8 women and 4 young men in the farm, a very nice group of people. At the farm everything is local, the difference between me and other farms is that I work directly with the local people in the area except for ploughing (this is done with a tractor), and the products are made available to the local market. The nearby farms instead are owned by large scale farmers who use machinery for all their work, so they do not engage local people for the production, and they sell the products far away.
Once we harvest we supply to the vendors in the nearby markets in Gulu and Amuru. Some vendors come directly to the farm because of the affordable price, some even come from Kampala. The whole farming life cycle impacts to the different levels in the community, from those who work directly with me, to others who ran stalls in the local markets, and also to the final consumers who can buy local products at a better price.
There is sufficient land of up to 10 acres to grow the crops. All the people who work in the farm with me benefit from receiving free food and employment, which helps them to feed their families. When I informed them that I would not be going back to farm for a while I could see really sad faces, and I thought to myself that I should maintain this project alive. With your assistance the continuation of the project will be made possible.
Of course you are always welcome to visit the farm and see yourself how the farm is doing. We also have two huts which are used for sleeping during working periods.

What the project is about
The project is about growing and supplying food (rice and soya bean) in the far North area of Uganda (Amuru district). To make this project possible I work together with local people who are responsible for planting, tilling and weeding, and also harvesting. The size of land we are farming on is 10 acres.

Request for donations
The agricultural period of 2020 and 2021 has been very challenging. The lockdown put the work in a standstill for a long period of time, the harvest did not go well and ultimately the investment was lost. What makes me come here to ask for a donation is because I have to start again the process. I have to hire tractors to till the land, buy new seeds, hire more local people and put up a storage.
