A Reynoldstown Family in Need
For nearly 2 decades, Cathy and Doug have opened their home to children, youth, and teens for everything from meals and homework help to life advice and authentic relationships. The children in their ministry have grown into successful men and women and continue to return to share their accomplishments, engagement, college acceptance/graduation or even that they're struggling and need wisdom. This family has poured their energy into so many youth and families and always given everything they had toward these efforts. They’re known in the neighborhood as some of the most selfless people with the biggest, kindest hearts imaginable.
Last week, Doug, Cathy, and their two adolescent boys experienced a terrible house fire while driving home from vacation. They are all fine, but returned to a home destroyed and rendered uninhabitable by fire. Tragically, they were in the process of roof repairs at the time so that their insurance would be re-instated.
Now their challenge is greater than ever. The funds raised will be used for current housing, clothing, and toward a rebuild. Our hope is that we as a community can give back to them in this time of need.
