Rescue Phantom
I first heard of Phantom in November of 2014. He had been living on the streets of Magnolia Texas for 2 years with an embedded nylon collar in his neck. I vowed I would not sleep until he was saved. Through much perseverence, I put together a small group of women that were determined to rescue this dog. We tirelessly tracked and posted and knocked on doors in any attempt to gain knowledge about how we could help him. It has taken a village. I am proud to announce after 4 LONG months, he was finally tracked and rescued Feb 20, 2015. He has undergone surgery to remove the infected and maggot filled collar he painfully endured for 2 years. His neck wounds will take over 2 months to heal and he will always have permanent scarring. He has parasites, fleas and has some issues from also being hit by a car in December. This dog has endured what no animal should EVER know. It is time to help rehabilitate, feed and love him. I am currently fostering Phantom. I am carefully introducing him to life as it should be. He has a lot of fear and his recovery will be a long slow road. His emotional and medical rehab will require finances for food and proper care. Thank you for giving. ~Carole Hopkins, Pawsitively Petsitting, The Woodlands, Tx
