In Loving Memory of Gabe Combs

Donation protected
In honor of Gabe, his mother Laurie has decided to have a memorial bench placed at the Western Gateway Park where he spent many hours with his sweet canine companions.  If you would like to contribute, Laurie and family would be so grateful.

God called home one of his very special angels, Gabriel Austin Combs on December 8, 2017 just 15 days shy of his 23rd birthday.  Gabriel had a wonderful sense of humor, a strong faith in God, and a heart of gold.  He wasn't much of a social person but if he allowed you to get to know him, he was a loyal friend, loved you with all of his heart, and told you often.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and was very witty.  He could make you laugh until you cried.  He loved a  joke and making up silly nicknames for loved ones and pets.  His love for animals was deep, often creating stories about his pets and what type of person they would be if they were human.  He would often jokingly say to me, "If I die someday, I would like God to make me a cat just for one day, but only if I had a family like ours. "
He admired the sensitivity and intuition of his cats Tommy and Callie because he shared those same qualities.  Gabriel was highly intuitive which made it difficult for him to be in public for long periods of time.  He could tell instantly what kind of person you were and the size of your heart.  His family, animals, and friends were the most important things in his life.  The special ones brought comfort to his soul.  He will be remembered as deeply open hearted, kind, and for having an overly empathetic soul with a huge appreciation for music, laughter, animals, and family.  He never left your side without a hug and saying, "I love you too much and I love you more than life!"
He was a bright light of energy.

"The flame that burns twice as bright only burns half as long."

He is survived by his mother, Laurie Robertson Painter, his brother, Brandon Cole Painter, his father Craig (Julie) Vernon Combs of Redding, California, grandparents Pamela (John) Ferch of Nevada, Patricia Robertson of Antioch, Linda (Cruz) Arellanes of Sacramento, grandfather Larry Combs of Oregon, God parents Noel and Cherlotte of Grass Valley, and many loving aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his grandfather Danny Paul Robertson, great grandparents Fred and Lucille Robertson of California and Berty and Dorthy Eames of Idaho.

Memorial will be held at a later date.

Arrangements under the care of the Chapel of Angels Mortuary.
